Hankook launches truck breakdown service

Neu-Isenburg/Deutschland, 16 February 2012– "Hankook Road Assist 24h" is the new truck breakdown service from premium manufacturer Hankook. Since its launch in January 2012 the service has been available initially to the company’s customers in Germany, France and Spain. The breakdown service network has over 7,000 outlets in more than 30 countries all over Europe and the CIS. "Hankook Road Assist 24h" is addressed to truck fleets and does not depend on the fleets’ current choice of tyres. The manufacturer’s already existing, national truck breakdown services will at the same time be integrated under the new pan-European breakdown service.
Hankook’s new service includes a multilingual call center, which coordinates the handling of the breakdowns with the garages and is available 24/7/365.
Handling breakdowns via the call center is easy and reliable, for both the driver and the fleet account. Drivers report the breakdown to the call center and identify themselves through their own membership card. In cases where the vehicle is not operational, a call center agent will immediately send a service vehicle to the location of the breakdown. If the vehicle can still move, the driver will be guided to the nearest Hankook partner dealer. An online tracking function provides fleet management with information about the current service status.
With Hankook’s extensive dealer network located in more than 30 countries, help can be on its way to the tyre breakdown ensuring fast mobility within just 2 hours (under normal circumstances). The complete payment modalities are arranged directly with the fleet’s usual tyre dealer – a particularly convenient solution for the drivers.
The gradual inclusion of Hankook customers from other countries is planned for the short term. The service is expected to be extended to fleets in other European countries.
The implementation of the “Hankook Road Assist 24h” will allow Hankook to meet the needs and increased demands of customers providing an improved service. “It is getting more important today to develop and offer a full service package next to the production of high quality tyres” says Hee-Se Ahn, Vice President Marketing and Sales, Hankook Tire Europe. “That’s why we are now completing our premium truck tyre range with an appropriate tyre service, which is fast, easy and reasonably priced.
